Who we are

Parkerford Baking Company was started because of Nancy Christman’s heavenly nut rolls.  

The nut roll story begins in the 80’s with Nancy Christman working alongside a co-worker in a Pottstown factory.  During that time, a friendship developed, lives were shared, and recipes were swapped.  One of those recipes was for a traditional Hungarian nut roll.  Little did Nancy know that this recipe shared long ago would become a beloved holiday tradition.

Fast forward to 2023 when Nancy asked Rich to help in the bakery after stepping back from his practice of veterinary medicine.  He found the process of making the nut rolls to be such an enjoyable change of pace that when John and Nancy mentioned retirement, he and his wife Connie saw an opportunity for something new.

Since that time, Rich and Connie have been working together alongside the Christmans to learn the art of the nut roll, taking over entirely late summer 2023.  Rich, Connie and their boys are now entrusted with taking Nancy’s heavenly nut roll into the next chapter.  We thank you all for your support as we do our best to continue the legacy started by John and Nancy over 20 years ago.
